- STADA Head of Global Consumer Healthcare, Volker Sydow: “Locobase® is a derma brand loved by Nordic consumers that further strengthens our portfolio of local hero brands in Scandinavia. We see considerable potential to accelerate Locobase®’s growth momentum by optimizing its marketing mix and applying the dedicated focus of our STADA Nordics team."
Bad Vilbel, Germany – 4 May 2026 – STADA has reinforced its status as a partner of choice and top player in European consumer healthcare by acquiring commercial rights to the Locobase® skincare range in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland. The vendor, Karo Healthcare, retains rights elsewhere. No financial details were disclosed.
Locobase® is a leading brand in the dry skin market across Nordic markets. The specialist skin brand comprises a broad portfolio addressing the needs of consumers with dry, sensitive or barrier‑impaired skin, including products that are used as part of the care and management of conditions such as eczema or psoriasis. Spanning medical devices, cosmetics and OTC medicines, the range comprises 17 presentations or stock-keeping units (SKUs) that are supplied predominantly through pharmacies.
“Locobase® is highly complementary to both our consumer healthcare offering in Nordic countries and our extensive skincare portfolio globally,” commented Volker Sydow, STADA’s Head of Global Consumer Healthcare. “Locobase® is a derma brand loved by Nordic consumers that further strengthens our portfolio of local hero brands in Scandinavia. We see considerable potential to accelerate Locobase®’s growth momentum by optimizing its marketing mix and applying the dedicated focus of our STADA Nordics team.”
STADA is confident that the brand offers further growth potential across the entire region. The brand is highly complementary to STADA Nordics’ existing portfolio of local hero brands in skin and scalp care that includes: Ceridal® creams and lotions, Dermalog® lipid-based moisturisers; the Flexitol® foot and heel care line; Hedrin® head-lice treatments; and Nizoral® anti-dandruff products.[1]
Locobase® is positioned around the repair, protection, renewal and calming of the skin barrier; a central pathophysiological concept in conditions such as atopic dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis. The brand’s 17 presentations are grouped into four segments – Repair, Protect, Renew and Calm – enabling pharmacists and healthcare professionals to tailor recommendations to individual needs of consumers and their dependents.
