Bad Vilbel, July 18, 2019 – On Friday, July 12, the STADA Group had two reasons to celebrate in Vietnam: The Vietnamese affiliate Pymepharco celebrated its 30th anniversary and the new production site in Phu Yen province was officially opened. The ceremony was attended by STADA CEO Peter Goldschmidt and representatives of the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, the Drug Administration, Provincial Leader as well as local and international cooperation partners.
Since its founding in July 1989, Pymepharco has evolved from a local pharmaceutical company distributing small medical devices and equipment into one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Vietnam.
“In 2009 STADA began to invest in Pymepharco with the intention of growing in the Asian market, particularly in Vietnam. Today, we are proud of the success of our strong partnership over the past 10 years. We made the transition from a trading partner to an investment partner and today STADA has become a major shareholder in Pymepharco. All this clearly shows our trust and respect for Pymepharco”, says STADA CEO Peter Goldschmidt.
The company continues to grow and on January 31, 2018 officially started construction of the Hoang Van Thu pharmaceutical factory on an area of more than 30,000 m² in the province of Phu Yen. Taking into account EU-GMP standards for quality and production, the factory has a capacity of several billion tablets per year. This new modern production site will be of benefit for the entire STADA Group when EU products are also manufactured here in the future. “The opening of Hoang Van Thu pharmaceutical factory is an important milestone marking Pymepharco's transformation from a strong industry leader in Vietnam to a key contributor of the supply chain of the STADA Group”, emphasizes Peter Goldschmidt.
After 18 months of full employee commitment and support from international experts, technical consulting and technology transfer by the STADA Group, the new factory Pymepharco is able to prove that the company is determined to maintain its leading position in the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry. Pymepharco thus contributes to the global supply chain and satisfies demand for high quality medicines at reasonable prices for Vietnamese customers based on modern technologies, highly qualified employees and modern management systems.
