STADA Health Management Endowment Professorship at Europa Fachhochschule Fresenius
02/12/2003 . Press Release
STADA Arzneimittel AG, Bad Vilbel, and Europa Fachhochschule Fresenius (EFF), a private, state-approved university of applied sciences in Idstein near Frankfurt/M, jointly announce the establishment of the STADA Health Management Endowment Professorship. Contracts to this effect were signed today in Bad Vilbel. The endowment is initially limited to a three-year term with a possible extension.
The goal of the undertaking is to promote health management as an important contribution to cost optimization in healthcare studies and research. "As one of the most important suppliers of low-cost generics in Europe, STADA is committed to making health affordable. This not only includes reasonably priced drugs, but efficient, relevant health management. It seemed natural for us to undertake such a project," comments STADA's Head of corporate communications, Dr. Axel Müller. "With its existing focus on health economics as part of its Business Management program and its practice-oriented approach as a university of applied science, EFF offers the optimum conditions," he says.
University representatives also demonstrate great interest in the partnership. In their joint statement, Hans-Jörg Bähr, President of EFF, Prof. Dr. Thomas Meuser, Dean of the Economics & New Media Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Jens Jessen, who holds the chair for Health Eco-nomics, said: "The STADA Endowment Professorship gives EFF an opportunity to introduce new ideas to the study of Health Economics. Questions of health management are becoming increasingly important in today's society. It is therefore our goal to fill the new STADA endowment professorship very quickly."
